Hamilton Beach Then and Now
100 Years of Expertise
The precursor to today’s electric blender, the drink mixer, was patented by Hamilton Beach Manufacturing Company in 1911. Since that time, the company has had a history of many firsts, including the invention of the first universal motor that could operate on alternating and direct current (AC/DC).
Year after year, Hamilton Beach Brands, Inc. introduces innovative appliances that many retail and commercial industries prefer. With its unequalled experience in motor-driven appliances, the company can provide its customers with the power and performance they prefer in a blender.
Today's Test Kitchen The Hamilton Beach Test Kitchen is a key step in the development and approval of the company’s appliances. Within its walls, many important activities take place: recipes are developed, product performance is tested, use and cares are developed, and (when available) corporate visitors are fed. No detail, large or small, escapes the expert eye of these kitchen professionals.
The Test Kitchen is headed by Betty Byrne, Senior Home Economist and highly regarded Hamilton Beach consumer advocate. One of the key issues she’s currently concerned about? Food safety. “It’s a real hot button for consumers,” she says thoughtfully. “I feel good that Hamilton Beach® appliances and recipes are carefully tested, because I think about everything from a consumer’s point of view! I’ll fail a product if it doesn’t measure up.”
