White Wheat Bread for 1.5-lb. Loaf Breadmaker

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter or vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons nonfat dry milk
  • 2 cups bread flour
  • 1 cup whole-wheat flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons bread machine yeast

Directions:

  1. Add all ingredients in the order suggested in the breadmaker instructions. (liquid, then dry ingredients, adding yeast last.)
  2. Choose Cycle 1 for Basic Bread, 1.5 pound loaf for size of bread and medium for crust color. Press Start. When done, remove bread from breadmaker and carefully remove kneading paddle from bottom of loaf.
  3. Let cool 10 minutes before slicing with a bread knife.

Serves: 12
