French Bread for 2-lb. Loaf Breadmaker

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
  • 4 1/2 cups bread flour
  • 2 teaspoons bread machine yeast

Directions:

  1. Place all ingredients in the breadmaker pan in order listed.
  2. Choose Cycle 2 for French, 2 pound loaf for size of bread and dark for crust color. Press Start. When done, remove bread from breadmaker and carefully remove kneading paddle from bottom of loaf.
  3. Let cool 10 minutes before slicing with a bread knife.
