Fruit Compote


Yield: about 4 quarts
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 cans (29 oz. each) peach halves, drained
  • 2 cans (29 oz. each) pear halves, drained
  • 2 cans (16 oz.) purple plums, drained
  • 1 jar (10 oz.) currant jelly
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon


  1. Dissolve the cornstarch in the water and add it to the crock with the remaining ingredients. Stir carefully to avoid breaking up the fruit.
  2. Cover and cook on preferred setting:
    • Low - 3 to 4 hours
    • High - 1.5 to 2 hours
