Roasted Red Pepper and Green Onion Hummus


  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 jar (14 oz.) roasted red peppers, drained
  • 2 cans (15 oz. each) garbanzo beans(chickpeas), 1 can only drained
  • 2 green onions, white portion and half of green tops
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 cup sesame seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon coarse black pepper
  • Dash cayenne pepper
  • Dash paprika
  • Pita chips or cut vegetables


  1. Add lemon juice, olive oil, red peppers, beans, green onions, garlic, sesame seeds, cumin, salt, pepper, cayenne pepper and paprika to blender jar; cover.
  2. Process on PUREE until blender turns off.
  3. Transfer to serving bowl. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
  4. Serve with pita chips and/or vegetables.
