Chocolate Frosting

Ingredients

  • 3 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons milk

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, stir together confectioners’ sugar and unsweetened cocoa.
  2. In a large mixer bowl with mixer on MEDIUM, beat butter and vanilla extract until creamy, about 2 minutes.
  3. Reduce mixer speed to LOW, gradually beat in confectioners’ sugar mixture with milk until blended, about 1 minute. Increase speed to MEDIUM-HIGH, beat 1 minute until creamy. Add more milk if mixture is too thick.
  4. Spread onto cupcakes or cake.
